This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when we act as a debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), when consumers interact with our website or payment portal, and in the normal course of business.

From Creditors (Our Clients)

  • Name, address, phone numbers, email addresses

  • Account numbers, original creditor information, balance owed

  • Date of last payment, charge-off date, and other debt-related details

  • Social Security Number (only when provided by the client and necessary for location or reporting purposes)

Directly from Consumers

  • Information you provide when making payments, disputing a debt, or communicating with us (name, address, phone, email, payment method)

  • Information submitted through our website or consumer payment portal

Automatically Collected

  • IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies when you visit alta-enterprises.com or our payment portal

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information only for legitimate debt collection and accounts receivable management purposes, including:

  • Locating consumers

  • Communicating with consumers about accounts (by mail, phone, email, or text, as permitted by law)

  • Verifying identity and preventing fraud

  • Processing payments

  • Complying with federal and state laws (FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, GLBA, state licensing requirements, etc.)

  • Responding to disputes and validation requests

  • Reporting to credit bureaus (only when authorized by the original creditor or by law)

  • Performance of our contract with our clients (the original creditors)

  • Compliance with legal obligations (FDCPA, state collection laws, etc.)

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only with:

  • Our client (the original creditor or their assignee)

  • Licensed third-party service providers (skip-tracing vendors, letter vendors, payment processors, attorneys, IT/hosting providers) who are contractually obligated to protect the data

  • Credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) when legally permitted

  • Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or subpoena

  • Successors in the event of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

5. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, consistent with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and industry standards.
